The Chora is amphitheatrically built facing north and its architecture is unique.

Take a trek on its walking paths and see the verdant slopes with pine trees, blending harmoniously with the blue of the Aegean Sea.

Visit its beaches and swim in its turquoise crystal clear waters. Visit its wonderful villages and walk in the traditional alleys and get to know its culture.

Drink tsipouro or ouzo in the taverns by the sea, listening to greek music and taste the Greek and the local tastes. And of course visit Ai Giannis in Kastri or otherwise the famous Mamma Mia cliff!

Casa Mia’s nearest beaches: Stafilos and Velanio

Stafilos beach is the closest organized beach to the town of Skopelos at a distance of 4km. It is less than 5 minutes by car from Casa Mia.

The beach was named after the King Stafilos. It is a sandy beach with pines up to the bay. It is so beautiful that is also listed among the most incredible beaches of Greece!

It has a beach bar and there is a restaurant nearby where you can enjoy your meal overlooking the Aegean Sea.

There is also Velanio beach (organized) located next to Stafilos beach which is accessible on foot (5 min). A part of Velanio beach has declared as a nudist beach. In order to reach Velanio beach you should cross Stafilos beach and walk through a mountain path. A beach that you should definitely visit.

What to do

Use your car or rent one, to visit as many beaches as you can. They will charm you! Stafilos, Agnontas, Amarantos, Limnonari, Panormos, Milia, Kastani, Chovolo, Agios Ioannis (the Mamma Mia cliff) and many other beaches and places are waiting for you to discover.

In addition to swimming in the crystal clear waters of the island, you can also do water sports such as kayaking and even diving!

If you are a nature lover and you are fascinated by our green island, you can rent a bike – if you don’t have one with you – and discover what Mediterranean beauty really means!

Walk the cobbled streets of the Chora. The locals will welcome you with a smile! Explore the traditional settlement and find the old Venetian castle.Visit the Folklore Museum of Skopelos and learn about the famous Skopelos traditional wedding costume and beyond.

Try the local cuisine: The famous Skopelos cheese pie, green pie or the sweet milk pie. The pork with Skopelos plums and the traditional wedding sweets Hamalia (made by almonds), as well as Avgato (dessert made from local plums).
